I remember talking to a friend in high school about my faith in God. It was during a particularly difficult time in my life and he just couldn’t my worship. I have to admit at times I can’t understand it myself. Until I look to my maternal grandmother. One of the strongest and faithful women I’ve ever met, she has shown me that God shows up when we need him. Kirk Franklin has a single out called “A God Like You” that reminds me of this whenever I hear it.
Just about every morning since I was sixteen I’ve always woke up at around 5AM. Allowing time between just me and God to pray, read, and sing his praises is what has sustained me even in the darkest days. I try to use one inspirational song to guide that time that includes scripture and prayer. Today’s post is by Kirk Franklin (@kirkfranklin) entitled A God Like You.
